Sale Results from the

7th Annual Fall WYO Quarter Horse Sale September 15, 2007, Thermopolis, Wyoming

The 7th Annual fall sale for the Wyo Quarter Horse Sales was held September 15 in Thermopolis, Wyoming.  A good crowd of serious buyers helped themselves to a quality and colorful offering of ranch raised, started two year olds, yearlings and weanlings.  All of this stock was bred and raised by the Smith’s and Bartlett’s, and the majority were by Bubba Roan Cowboy, ElS Scottish Nick, and The Son Of A Buck.  36 geldings also sold.   Demand for big, strong geldings with color dominated the sale this fall.  Horses sold to 19 different states, with many staying in Wyoming and the surrounding area.  The averages are as follows.

Top selling horse: Smooth Gray Comet 5 year old blue roan gelding    15.3, 1300# Big, very gentle and pretty, started heading $22,000 to a gentleman in Tennessee. Owner Bill Smith

Second high selling horse:   Winning The Blues,   A 5 year old blue roan gelding that was owned by Rick Smith since he was a weanling.  16.2, 1325#,  Big, gentle and had had all kinds of ranch, mountain and arena use.  Well started heading horse.   Owned by Rick Smith and sold for $18,000 to Tennessee.

Third high selling horse:  Flyinx Dandy Playboy,  6 year old dapple gray gelding that was started as a head horse this summer and ridden in the Beartooth Mountains as well.  Owned by Rick Smith and sold to Tennessee.  $17,000
